This year, the MLab was thrilled to take part in Pint of Science 2025, the international science communication festival that brings cutting-edge research to pubs and cafés around the world — no lab coats required! 🍺✨

Two of our researchers, Alicia and Marc, captivated the audience with engaging talks that revealed the invisible, yet essential, world of microbes.

🔍 Alicia took us on a journey into the marvelous world of microbiomes with her talk "Invisible but Essential", highlighting how these microscopic communities quietly sustain life— from animal interactions to even their importance in human lifes 🌿🌐

💧 Marc followed with his talk "The Universe in a Drop of Water", sharing eye-opening insights into the staggering microbial diversity found in even the tiniest sample of seawater. From mysterious plankton to powerful bacteria, he reminded us that the ocean's richness often lies where the eye can't see. 🌌🌊
