MLab promotes science communication to the general public across a wide range of fields!

On 14 July, members of the MLab had the pleasure of participating in the Spanish National Radio program Españoles en la Mar (RNE) to discuss our recently published study, "Microbial Fingerprinting of Marine Water Masses in an Antarctic and Hydrographically Complex Area."

We are delighted to share that Professor Peter Convey from the British Antarctic Survey (Natural Environment Research Council, UK) delivered an insightful seminar on the diversity, evolution, and biogeography of terrestrial and freshwater life in Antarctica. ❄️🌱

We are pleased to share that Dr. David Velázquez Martínez from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid delivered an inspiring talk within the seminar series held in honor of Andrés Barbosa, focusing on cutting-edge research in polar ecosystems and environmental change. ❄️🌱

Today we had the pleasure of hosting Adrián López Quirós, who presented the seminar
"Cenozoic global climate and Antarctic Ice Sheet history: A brief journey." 🧊🌊

Mireia took part in the Workshop | Women and Polar Science – Pepita Castellví, organized by PolarCSIC Connection and GEO3BCN 🌍✨

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Lucila Belén Morales, from Universidad Andrés Bello (Chile) 🇨🇱 to the Andrés Barbosa Polar Seminar Series.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Alfonso Sáiz-López (CSIC) for an inspiring seminar titled:
🧊 "Polar Halogens: Atmospheric and Climate Implications" 🌬️

Today, we were honored to host Dr. Juan Höfer, marine biologist and researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile. In his seminar, Dr. Höfer talked about how glacier melting is reshaping coastal ecosystems in the Antarctic Peninsula and affecting local biogeochemical cycles.
