Polar seminar: Adrián López-Quirós

Today we had the pleasure of hosting Adrián López Quirós, who presented the seminar
"Cenozoic global climate and Antarctic Ice Sheet history: A brief journey." 🧊🌊

He took us through the Cenozoic evolution of the Southern Ocean, from the extreme warmth of the Early Eocene 🔥 to major glaciations and warmer intervals ❄️🌤️. Using sedimentary records and insights from recent oceanographic expeditions 🚢, Adrián showed how new research is improving our understanding of Antarctic climate history and long-term climate change 🌎✨.
