The Mlab at the PhDay CSIC 2025
The Mlab at PHday 2025! 🎉🔬
This week, the Mlab took part in PHday at the CSIC Serrano Campus, a vibrant event that brings together early-career researchers from across the life sciences to share their work and build connections 🤝🌱.
Two of our PhD students, Marc and Alicia, represented the lab with excellent poster presentations showcasing their thesis research:
🧫 Marc presented his work on marine microorganisms across global ocean regions, focusing on their ecological roles and how they respond to environmental gradients. His research is helping to deepen our understanding of microbial diversity and biogeography in the oceans 🌊🌍.
🧬 Alicia shared her findings on animal-associated microbiomes, with a special focus on the Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) 🦐❄️. Her project explores the functional potential of these microbial communities and their importance for krill health and Antarctic ecosystems.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect with fellow researchers, get feedback, and continue growing as part of the broader CSIC community.
We're proud of Marc and Alicia for their brilliant work and the enthusiasm they brought to the event! 💪👏
