The Mlab in the woods!

Field trip… for the soul 🌿🧠

Last week, the Mlab, together with fellow members of the Department of Microbial Ecology, took a well-deserved break from the lab benches and screens to reconnect with nature — and each other 🍃✨.

We visited the Parque Regional del Sureste, near Rivas-Vaciamadrid, where we swapped pipettes for hiking shoes and Petri dishes for birdwatching binoculars 🥾🔬🦅. Surrounded by wetlands, limestone cliffs, and spring blooms, it was the perfect setting to clear our minds and strengthen team bonds.

Moments like these remind us that science also grows through shared experiences, fresh air, and laughter — not just through experiments. A big thank you to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun, refreshing outing! 🌞💬💚
